Productive Chaos. Commissions, Potfest and Considered Woman.

It has been one of the busier periods in the studio for a while. Two commissions, preparations for Potfest, and a handful of other pieces all seemed to decide they needed to be finished at the same time. There is a particular kind of productive chaos that comes with that, the studio full, every surface occupied, the kiln working hard. It is the kind of busy that feels good, even when it is a lot.

Sitting in the middle of all of it, watching proceedings with what I can only describe as quiet amusement, is Considered Woman. She is part of my Woman series, hand-built in grey grogged stoneware, left unglazed, and she has been a calm presence amongst the studio chaos these past weeks. Honestly, I could learn a lot from her.
